It´s finished and ready to open, the "new" Estói Palace that after being object of recovery and adaptation work, responsibility of Casais, was transformed into a historical inn. The construction work done on the 18^th century building, classified as property of public interest, lasted about 2 years.   

The intervention included the recovery of the original palace that incorporated the public equipment spaces: the noble salons became leisure areas; the old chapel became a reading area, the old Viscounts room a reception area and a restaurant. Simultaneously, a building with 60 rooms and more than three suites, destined for the accommodation of the visitors of the palace was built.  The old stables were also restored for an events building.

Inaugurated on the 9^th of September, the Monastery of S. Martinho de Tibães - Mire de Tibães, Braga-, is classified as property of public interest. The old home to the Portuguese Benedictine Congregation, the Monastery was object of an integrated operation of restoration, recovery and rehabilitation, responsibility of CASAIS Engenharia e Construção, S.A., between September of 2006 and December of 2008.

The intervention covered the old cloister of the dining área (destroyed by a big fire in the end of the 19^th century), the novitiate, the hospice and parte of the South wing where the library, kitchen and other spaces are located.  

The recovery and restoration of the spaces will allow it to be integrated in the Monastery´s visiting circuit, where an information center for monastic order´s will be installed. The GNR´s territorial station of Alcains, Castelo Branco, has new installations, inaugurated Friday the 4^th of September by the Internal Administration Minister, Rui Pereira. A new station has been the desire not only of the population but also of the officers that work there. Constructed by CASAIS - Engenharia e Construção, the new building, located in the Urbanization Jardins de São Domingos - Alcains, offers its users and professionals excellent conditions, as a pose to the degraded and limited old installations that were seen as a limitation for the officers activity of guarantying the habitants security.

Given to Casais in October of last year, the new building "provides all the necessary conditions for the correct performance by the officers that are going to occupy it, namely in what concerns perfectly defined and conveniently structured spaces", as highlighted by a source of the Administration Board of the Casais Group.

The first construction block for the new Justice Campus of Valongo - to be located on Avª Emídio Navarro- was launched on the 29^th of July of 2009. The construction work will be responsibility of CASAIS Engenharia e Construção, S.A. After the execution of the job, the constructor will rent the building to the Instituto de Gestão Financeira e Infra-Estruturas da Justiça, I.P. - IGFIJ, according to the Public Private Partnership (PPP) established in a whole-life costing perspective.

The particularity of the construction work isn´t restricted to the symbolism and importance of the equipment but also to the applied "special" PPP model.

Two years after the beginning of the construction, responsibility of CASAIS - ENGENHARIA E CONSTRUÇÃO, also in charge of the conception project, the Vila Gerações Social Center in Arcos de Valdevez is now functioning. The inauguration ceremony, promoted by the local Santa Casa da Misericórdia, took place on the 26^th of August. This will be a space shared by different generations and it is therefore adapted to their different needs. It is also adapted to the new energetic certification, since it uses 60 solar panels for heating sanitary water and for central heating.

Located in the Quinta do Paraíso, Vila Fonche, the new center cost around four million Euros and contemplates two continued care units for medium and long duration, each with capacity for 30 beds. It also includes a home for children in risk, with capability for 42 users, a nursery and a kindergarten. Ready to function in a few months is a physiotherapy clinic and a hemodialysis unit.

The Paula Rego museum received the visit of the painter and the mayor of Cascais.

On the 12th of August, the Portuguese artist Paula Rego, who has a great international projection, visited the construction work escorted by the President of the City Hall of Cascais.

Last 19^th of July 2008, and for the second consecutive time, the company Casais organized a Karting race at the International Kartodrome of Braga.

From the 34 teams that competed in the CasaisKart 2008 the prizes went to: 1^st. place - AGRIFER/Sempreafacturar; 2^nd. place - BARCLAYS/CartSI; 3^rd. place - FOC/Kartistas; Best Lap - FOC/Kartistas (1:12.112); Fair Play Prize- Millennium BCP/100 Travões (100% female team)!

Placed in the Kantienberg Campus, in Gent, the building with 20.000m² of construction area, and with a capacity for 3000 students and 500 employees, is formed by a 30m height tower, laboratories, media library, library, cafeteria and dining hall. This new work in Belgium started in December and it is due to open in May 2009.

Casais started the construction of a business centre in the core of Munich, with almost 20 000 sq meters and multiple workshops and offices. The forthcoming Centre of Business and Ideas endeavours to concentrate in one single space all the conditions for the development of products and innovative services related to media.

The Medienfabrik stands out especially because of its concern about the exterior and interior gardening areas- areas based on the oriental philosophy of "Feng Shui" - living in harmony with environment.

Geriurb (Casais Ambiente's company) promoted, during the 13^th of June, the Child and the Environment Festival in Ponte da Barca. From 10 o'clock, next to the municipal swimming pools, many outdoors activities were carried out with the purpose of making young people aware about environmental matters.

In the context of the New Centrality Agreement, signed in November 2005 by the entrepreneurs and representative organizations of the Midland of Portugal, a strategic priority was established in order to develop renewable energies, diversifying the primary sources and incorporating environmental and energetic criteria.

 On the other hand, and as a complement, it was also considered as a priority the development of precise actions attempting the energy efficiency for conservation and rational use of energy.

2008 is the Golden year for Casais. On the 23^rd of May, the party began with a celebration at the Tibães Monastery and a friendship lunch for all the collaborators at the head office, in Tibães. At the end of the day, Casais received friends, clients, suppliers, business partners and other institutions, at the Theatro Circo, in Braga, where was presented his commemorative book and a unique show created by Tocá Rufar, both named "Mestria".
